Canoville tells Hamilton to stick with Arsenal; backs Boehly bid as 'best fit for Chelsea'

Former Chelsea star Paul Canoville has urged Lewis Hamilton to stick with supporting Arsenal, whilst also backing Todd Boehly's bid for the club.

Hamilton, along with tennis superstar Serena Williams, have committed to joining Sir Michael Broughton's bid to buy Chelsea.

But Canoville thinks Hamilton should stay loyal to his boyhood club.

"Lewis is an Arsenal fan and that's a fact," Canoville wrote in a lengthy tweet.

"Serena is on record saying she supports Real Madrid.

"I will always support Lewis in everything he does in F1, he is the greatest driver ever in my opinion.

"And, as with Serena, he is a phenomenal icon for black achievement and civil rights.

"With football though I think he should stay loyal to his own team."

Canoville has also met with all the interested takeover parties and believes Boehly's consortium is "by far the best fit for Chelsea and our fans".

He stated that Boehly convinced him of his bid after showing "huge passion for social impact around community outreach".
