Gary Cahill insists England's senior players have not demanded changes to Roy Hodgson's training schedule, as they bid to sign off the season with a victory against Slovenia in Sunday's Euro 2016 qualifier.
Asked whether England's players had asked for a reduction in training this week, Cahill said: "No. I think ultimately the manager and the staff will decide and as players we will go along with whatever is decided. I don't think any of us are in a position to say when we feel we should train and when we shouldn't.
"We leave that to the manager and we do what we are told. Even with the management, nothing has changed. The preparations and the training sessions have been near enough identical to the last few meet-ups we have had. The only thing that has changed is the gap to the end of the season.
"Usually, we roll straight into the meet-ups and you just keep going. This time, the season has finished but we play a qualifier three weeks later so it is different in that sense to prepare, especially when the lads had six of seven days off. So that's the main difference."
