Burnley boss Kompany: We could've scored more against Brentford

Burnley boss Vincent Kompany says victory over Brentford was always "coming".

Kompany felt they could've scored more after the 2-1 win, with the Bees reduced to ten men on eight minutes.

He later said: “It had been coming. We started the game well and there was a lot of energy in the team.

“On another day we could have scored more – we didn't make life easy for ourselves – but we get to celebrate with three points and look forward to the next game.

“These teams are always able to do something with their quality, but we did what we had to do to manage this game."

“Fofana could have made it 2-0, but those are the things were we still have to sharpen our tools a little bit."

On Jacob Bruun Larsen's penalty, he added: “He's a set-piece specialist. We felt very confident with him taking [the penalty]."
