Burnley boss Kompany on Palace defeat: Brownhill red made difference

Burnley boss Vincent Kompany says Josh Brownhill's dismissal made the difference in defeat at Crystal Palace.

Palace won 3-0 with their goals coming after Brownhill's red card.

Kompany said: “The job is hard enough so we can't go down to 10-men in a game of this magnitude. It becomes tough. You can see the team is still fighting

“It's moments. Second phase of a corner and then the penalty. It is difficult to make a proper assessment because we go down to 10-men early. There was not much in the game. It goes like this and we will have to pick ourselves up again.

“Sometimes you work your way into the game. They have a new manager and that momentum and we dealt with it ok. The moment you go down to 10 it is a difficult task."

He added: “I thought we were building into the game nicely even before the red card. You go down to 10 men in a massive, massive game and after that it is those moments that punish you."
