Burnley boss Kompany: I know we can beat Bournemouth

Burnley boss Vincent Kompany says the players remain positive and passionate for the cause after their losing run.

The Clarets meet Bournemouth later on Sunday.

Kompany said: "I know you have to be in it with passion and emotions and the team are. It really hurts us when we lose any game and it's a real punch in the guts.

"But we build ourselves up to go again every week and we have the consistency to do that. The 24 hours after (defeat) is never good but then it's back to work and getting ready for this game which is what we have done.

"I would love to go over to the fans this Sunday and fist pump again. I actually visualise that in my head and can picture it and I hope that's this weekend. That's no disrespect at all to Bournemouth, we are well aware they are a really good team.

"We just have to look at every opportunity and there's a game this weekend for us, at home in front of our fans and that's the only one that matters and that I'm thinking about."

He added: "It's a necessity to inject belief and give the players something to have and that's something I'm passionate about. You always have to inject belief and that's in every situation.

"Whether times are good or bad, the belief has to remain the same and that's been something we have had the consistency of all season.

"It's easier to do that when you believe yourself and that's my case. My only focus is Burnley Football Club and all I care about now is my team and them getting a result this weekend."
