Burnley boss Kompany: Brighton what successful progress is about

Burnley boss Vincent Kompany has no doubts about the quality of Saturday's opponents Brighton.

Kompany admits he's been impressed by the Seagulls' progress.

He said, "They've become a top side for me in the league. I remember playing against them in my last Premier League game [as a player] four years ago. Their progress has been incredible. They stayed up in the last game of the season or the game before that and we won the title there, that was four years ago. It was a game we were expected to win. If you see the progress they've made since, they've established themselves as a top team in the division.

"To get through the leagues, they had an idea long long before they got to the Premier League, they had healthy backing but ideas as well. It's what successful progress is about, it's about vision, dedication and what they are today. They not only recruit players, they produce players and coaches which has turned them into an operationally successful club.

"They're very complete in many areas, they've done that really well - the profile of players they have fit the way they play. They've got a good mix of experienced players and promising players. They're a prime example of sustainability and competitiveness in Premier League level but for us its just another tough game."
