Colombian international Edixon Perea is being pursued by a number of British clubs, skysports.com reports. The 26-year-old forward is a free agent after leaving Brazilian club Gremio earlier this year and is looking to move back across the Atlantic.

Perea already has experience of playing in Europe having spent two years in France with Bordeaux from 2005 to 2007.

His British representative Barry McIntosh confirmed that the interest was growing in the South American.

"A number of Premier League clubs have asked about Edixon and are keen," McIntosh told skysports.com.

"I will not discuss names, but there is interest from England and Scotland, and that does not surprise us - if he was still at Gremio, we know they would be asking £10million for him.

"He is a proven international player and is more than confident he can be a success over here."
