Brighton striker Evan Ferguson admits growing up as a Manchester United fan.
The Irish teen penned a new deal to 2029 last week.
"I cheered for Manchester United as a child. You had Wayne Rooney, Dimitar Berbatov and Danny Welbeck of course. They have always had good strikers," he told the Daily Mail.
It is Welbeck who is today Ferguson's teammate in Brighton. The youngster says he now is used to transfer speculation.
"I think so, because I got it (attention) early, already at the age of 14. You see everything on social media when there is talk about someone,.
"It was the first time it happened to me, then all of a sudden I was the one everyone was talking about. School is a bit strange after that."
