Brentford winger Damsgaard: Scrappy win was important

Brentford winger Mikkel Damsgaard admits victory over Sheffield United was "scrappy".

An own goal and Frank Onyeka's effort secured the win.

“It was a little bit more scrappy than we would have liked, but we're just happy to get the win," Damsgaard said.

“We had nine games without win, so it feels good to finally get one.

“It's very important for the relegation battle and it feels so good to get a little bit of distance."

On his involvement in the own goal, Damsgaard said: “I just try to create chances – that's one of my roles in the team – and I got a little bit fortunate with that one! But we take that and it helped us get the win today.

“I tried to give everything in the 50-50 battles and, on the ball, avoid the tackles and try to get around them and create chances."
