Brentford manager Frank dismisses relegation threat

Brentford manager Thomas Frank insists they're unconcerned about relegation.

While admitting they'd like more points, Frank is calm about the situation.

He said, "I see a situation where we don't have as many points as we would have liked. I think we have played our way to more points based on what the eyes see and what the stats say.

"This is how it is sometimes in football, but we have to look at the positive performances that we have had over the years, and then of course we have to correct them."

Even though one could imagine that the forces are used to fight for survival in Brentford, relegation is not a theme at all at the club.

"I don't think we have ever said at any point in the Premier League that survival is what it's all about. We never used that word.

"We have said that we want to be an attractive team in the Premier League and that we want to look ahead. We want to do the best we can to win the next match, and we have focused on that throughout, and so far it has been quite a success.

"I also expect that it will be going forward, but it's more fun to win than to lose, and it's clear that it's cooler to get points and win when you work hard. But it is life as a football coach that there are periods when it is a little harder. It is what it is and we can only keep doing what we believe in and then we have to look forward.

"So I would say that there are always narratives during a season, but if we have to put it into words, it is about where we are three or four games before the end of the season, and then there can be ups and downs. You can be eighth for large parts of the season, but people forget that if you finish 15th. It's the same when we end up in a better position at the end of the season."
