Brentford boss Thomas Frank was surprised by Christian Eriksen's debut for Manchester United on Sunday.
In defeat to Brighton, Eriksen played as a striker, much to the surprise of his former manager Frank.
"I think Christian is a very flexible player and he can play many positions," said the Dane.
"I haven't quite seen him in that position before. I could see many other places where he could be better, but he is not my player.
"I didn't expect to see him up there. I think more that Martial and Ronaldo are in play for that position against us."
The Bees meet United on Saturday.
