Brentford boss Thomas Frank says Liverpool deserved their win today.

The Bees were thumped 4-1 at home by the Reds.

“I think the boys were brilliant for 35 minutes," said Frank. “We were the best team on the pitch and did so many things right.

“We pressed aggressively, we were great at winning it and going forward. We were very good in the transitions.

“We caused them problems, but unfortunately against these big teams we have to be almost perfect for 90 minutes and I don't think we were."

Frank added: “The first goal, we conceded the transition goal. Liverpool are probably the best team in the world on offensive transitions from defensive set-pieces, and we made some mistakes we normally don't do. That didn't help.

“The third goal is the other one I'm a little bit disappointed with because we normally do very well in the high pressure.

“We played the best team in the Premier League - right now they are top - and we didn't play a perfect game."
