Inter Milan chief Marco Branca wants Chelsea boss Andre Villas-Boas to replace Claudio Ranieri at the end of the season.
Mediaset says Branca is pushing for Villas-Boas to be appointed should he be sacked by Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich.
The dilemma for Inter president Massimo Moratti is that he has little money to bargain with and is leaning towards sticking with Ranieri for next season. Certainly, the prospect of landing Barcelona coach Pep Guardiola or Arsenal's Arsene Wenger is out of Moratti's current budget.
The president favours Napoli coach Walter Mazzarri, but with him being under contract it would take a huge amount of money to convince Aurelio de Laurentiis to let him leave.
There is even talk of Moratti parting ways with Branca, with Lele Oriali mooted to return as general manager.
