Bournemouth put Man Utd target Brooks up for sale

Bournemouth are ready to sell Manchester United target David Brooks.

The winger is wanted by Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's team for squad depth.

And journalist Duncan Castles says the Cherries are happy to sell the player for the right fee.

Brooks had injury issues last term, but came back to full fitness before the season concluded.

Castles believes the Welshman is someone United would be very happy to sign.

He also feels Brooks would rotate with Mason Greenwood on the right wing, while a signing like Jadon Sancho would supplant Greenwood and hinder his development.

"You can see why Brooks has been mentioned," Castles said on the Transfer Window podcast.

"He fits into the cultural rebuild story, whatever Ed Woodward is trying to sell it as in this particular window.

"Brooks is young and British, would have a lot of time to play for this team but would be a much cheaper option than Jadon Sancho obviously.

"Bournemouth ready to sell the player, relegated to the Championship so an opportunity to go back into the Premier League.

"I think you could bring him into the squad and leave Mason Greenwood as the first choice on the right-side of attack and give yourself an alternative to play alongside him, rather than with Sancho where if you sign Jadon Sancho, Jadon Sancho is going to be a starter and that causes you something of an issue as to how you use Mason Greenwood next season.

"Although a squad and a long season and a lot of matches and rotation is important in the process and it's probably easier to change and rotate forwards around more than any other position in the team."
