Bournemouth are not interested in signing James McCarthy.

A report from the Daily Mail said that Howe wanted to add the Republic of Ireland star to his team as backup for Lewis Cook.

But the Bournemouth Daily Echo is suggesting that such rumours are wide off the mark.

There is no interest in McCarthy, who has only recently come back from a double leg fracture that he suffered a year ago.

McCarthy could also go out on loan to the likes of Fulham, Aston Villa or West Bromwich Albion, per the Daily Mail.
