Bournemouth forced to pull out of deal for Villarreal winger Nicolas Jackson

Bournemouth have ended their pursuit of Villarreal winger Nicolas Jackson.

The Daily Mail says Bournemouth have called off their £20.3m move for Villarreal's Jackson over injury concerns.

Medical tests revealed the 20-year-old winger, who had a hamstring injury, would not be fully fit until mid-March.

However, Bournemouth have completed the signing of Bristol City forward Antoine Semenyo in a £10.5m deal.

Senegal winger Jackson was also strongly linked with Southampton, but the Cherries beat them to sign him - only for the hamstring issue to put Gary O'Neil's side off.

Jackson will return to Villareal, where he has scored two goals and crafted two assists in 14 LaLiga fixtures.

The 20-year-old was part of Senegal's World Cup squad, which made it to the last-16 of the tournament in Qatar last month.
