Bournemouth defender Mepham on West Ham opener: These decisions are frustrating

Bournemouth defender Chris Mepham admits they paid for a poor first-half after defeat at West Ham.

The Cherries ended on the wrong side of a 2-0 result on Monday night.

Mepham said: "In the second half if one team were going to get a goal, it felt like it would be us. We were knocking at the ball but we didn't create anything. We weren't good in the first half which was frustrating."

On West Ham's first goal, he stated: "Obviously it's frustrating, it's not the first time and it feels like these decisions are going against us. It did hit his hand so it is frustrating. You could argue [Jordan] Zemura in the second half didn't go to deliberately handball it but that's the problem.

"[Kieffer] Moore was good in the second half. We played long balls and he gave us something to hit which was much better."
