Bournemouth defender Adam Smith welcomes new owner

Bournemouth defender Adam Smith has welcomed new owner Bill Foley.

Trusted to don the armband in the absence of captain Lloyd Kelly, former Tottenham defender Smith is more than aware of what Foley will bring to Cherries, referencing his tenure as governor of National Hockey League franchise Vegas Golden Knights.

Speaking with afcb.co.uk, Smith enthused: “I've heard nothing but good things about the new owners.

“They've got a wealth of experience of sport in America so I'm really looking forward to seeing what's going to happen.

“I'm sure they are going to do their best for the club and all the supporters and it's a very exciting time to be involved here.

“As players, our job is to focus on the football and get positive results. What's happening here is great news for the club and the future looks very bright."
