Bournemouth boss Iraola: I must thank board and fans for patience

Bournemouth boss Andoni Iraola says he's grateful to the club and fans for being patient at the start of the season.

Iraola admits he had a slow start to his Premier League career.

He told AS: “The reality is that we don't win a Premier League game until matchday 10, which is a lot. The team was attacking well, creating chances and even scoring goals, but we were not defending well.

"With the way we press and play so high, we were not being solid and it was difficult for us to win. But the club never got nervous. They knew that we had a very, very difficult initial schedule, in which we played with practically everyone at the top. It was a scenario that, in a way, they had already foreseen and accepted with a certain logic.

"In that sense I have to be grateful, both to the fans and to the club. At no point did I feel more questioned than normal. We, from our position, have to get the points and achieve the objectives, and if I am happy to have turned the situation around and then entered into a very good streak, it is also because both the fans and the club deserved it. I have to thank him for that."
