Bournemouth boss Eddie Howe enjoyed a study trip to Spain this summer.
This close season, he went to Bayern Munich and Villarreal.
He was blown away by the Spaniards' youth development — an area he hopes to revolutionise with Bournemouth when their new training ground is completed in 18 months.
Howe told The Sun: “There is a parallel with Villarreal's size and the rise they've had to ours.
“The day we went, the club president was watching their under-13s. That was incredible, really, when you consider the care taken.
“The president knew the players' names, their families. It was like, wow.
“They take their academy so seriously. It's a direction we're desperate to go in."
