Bolton want £5m from Arsenal for defender Holding

Bolton Wanderers will hold out for nearer to £5million for promising defender Rob Holding.

The Daily Mail is reporting that Arsenal are showing significant interest in the 20-year-old but are only prepared to pay £2m to pry him away from the Macron Stadium.

The Trotters struggled in the Championship this season, finishing bottom of the table, and will battle it out in League One next term which could prompt Holding to look elsewhere.

It is understood that Everton and Bournemouth are also keen on the talented centre-back but have not yet lodged a formal bid as the Gunners have already done.

Bolton are in desperate need of funds and may be forced to offload Holding, who is out of contract at the end of next season, but the club is adamant that they want their valuation met before parting with the player who made 30 appearances in all competitions in his debut senior campaign.
