Bolton Wanderers midfielder Fabrice Muamba is keen to play down comparisons with Manchester City ace Patrick Vieira.

There are obvious similarities in the tenacious style of play and physical attributes, however Muamba played down these comparisons.

He said of his former Arsenal captain: "Patrick is still a great player and a hero of mine, so of course I have tried to do certain things the same way. If I get to achieve even half of the things he has in the game, then I will have done okay.

"I choose my own path and my own destination. It has been nice to be compared with a great player like Patrick but where I go in my career is down to me."
