Bolton Wanderers are on the verge of clinching a £2 million deal for Sheffield United defender Chris Morgan.

The Mirror says Blades manager Bryan Robson has decided to have a clear-out and Morgan has been told he can leave.

Bolton boss Gary Megson is desperate for an old-style defender and hopes the chance to play in the Premier League again will see him beat off a bid from Crystal Palace for Morgan.
