Boca Juniors striker Mateo Retegui is set to join Genoa.
Retegui will be in Italy today to finalise the move.
"I am very happy with what's going on. I've been dreaming of playing in Europe since I was a kid," he said.
“I am happy, but also a bit sad about the situation of the club [Tigre] but I'll be forever grateful for what they did for me.
“I took this decision with my family and we think it's the best choice. I am joining a big club and I am happy. I want to enjoy my time there and learn. I have a great desire to win."
Retegui added: “Of course, the decision had to do with the national team too.
“I'll play for an Italian club, I'll be closer and do my best to improve, hoping to be called the next time, I am always available."
