Championship club Blackburn Rovers are pushing to secure a former Premier League striker's son.

Rovers are said to have set their sights on Jacob Fowler - the son of Liverpool legend Robbie Fowler.

The 18-year-old is playing with Oxford United, but could be heading to Ewood Park very soon.

Per The Sun, the younger Fowler is an attacking midfielder who has also spent time on trial at Rangers.

He has already played four games for Blackburn's youth squad with a view to signing for the long term.

He came up against Liverpool's Under-18 side recently, as Rovers' U18s lost 5-1.
