Hull City boss Steve Bruce must move quickly to land released Manchester United midfielder Nick Powell.
Powell ended the Championship season on loan at Hull City.
Injuries ruined his Tigers career but the striker may be handed a lifeline at Ewood Park by Blackburn Rovers boss Owen Coyle, says the Daily Mail.
Powell is currently a free agent after being released from Manchester United, and Coyle is a known fan of Powell through their time together at Wigan Athletic.
Bruce remains an admirer but with his future not yet secured at the KCOM Stadium, Coyle has swooped to begin talks with the forward.
