Birmingham City boss Steve Bruce is convinced he has a future star on his hands in former Arsenal midfielder Fabrice Muamba.

Bruce said: "He's only 19 so I have to protect him. Like Sav (Robbie Savage), he gives you everything he's got. Sometimes, you have to rein him in.

"He's got a tackle that you really don't want to be on the end of. He nails people and he's fantastic at it. But you couldn't get two more contrasting personalities.

"Fabrice is religious, very polite and comes in every morning with a smile on his face.

"He shakes your hand, says: 'Good morning'... and then goes and trains like a man possessed. Sav was Sav.

Brilliant for the club at the time - but I don't think he went to church that often."
