Birmingham and O'Shea part ways

Manchester United hero John O'Shea has departed from Birmingham City immediately.

O'Shea was assistant to Wayne Rooney at the Championship club, before Rooney's sacking after 15 matches.

While O'Shea stayed on for a few weeks after Rooney's departure, he is now departing as well.

The club issued a statement on the matter, stating: "The Club can confirm that First Team Coach, John O'Shea, has left by mutual consent.

"The Board would like to place on record their sincere thanks to John for all his efforts."

O'Shea spent time working with caretaker boss Steve Spooner, but Tony Mowbray is now permanent boss.
