Benevento striker Gianluca Lapadula has received a first call-up to the Peru squad.

Capped by Italy in a friendly in 2017, Lapadula qualifies for Peru thanks to his Peruvian mother.

Peru coach Ricardo Garcia told Expreso that Lapadula will be in the squad to face Chile on November 13 and Argentina on November 17.

“The paperwork and registration with our Federation are progressing well, so we decided to call him up," he said.

"The chances that Lapadula will represent Peru are very high, although it's not official yet."
