Brentford have welcomed Ben Ryan as new Director of Elite Performance.

Ryan has a past as both a rugby player and coach. He has previously coached Fiji's national rugby team, where in 2016 he first them for Olympic gold in Rio de Janeiro.

Ryan steps in after Rasmus Ankersen left the Bees as sporting director in 2021.

"When Rasmus left us in 2021, I spent some time thinking about the future of our management and what qualities we needed in the future.

"Director of Elite Performance is a role that I believe will help us reach new heights," Brentford director Phil Giles told the club's website.
