Bayern Munich suspends contract talks with Man Utd target Kroos

Bayern Munich have suspended new contract talks with Toni Kroos. The Germany midfielder is a top summer target for Manchester United manager David Moyes.

The Daily Mail says talks will not now resume until after the World Cup, when the 24-year old attacking midfielder's current agreement will already be well into its final 12 months.

Bayern cannot allow the impasse to drag on much longer and may be forced to consider offers in excess of £20million, if a compromise cannot be reached.

As things stand, the two parties are poles apart. Kroos is adamant he deserves to move up from his current position among the middle band of earners at the Allianz Arena, and join the likes of Philipp Lahm, Bastian Schweinsteiger and Franck Ribery in the £150,000 a week bracket, and Bayern just as determined to prevent their wage bill spiralling out of control.
