Granit Xhaka admits the presence of coach Xabi Alonso convinced him about joining Bayer Leverkusen.
The former Arsenal midfielder signed for Bayer earlier this month.
Xhaka said: "I am very happy to be here after a longer than expected negotiation.
"I was convinced by the sporting director and coach Xabi Alonso, as well as the fact that I already know the Bundesliga.
"I hope to give my contribution to the team in terms of leadership, ambition, will to win and experience after 4 years spent at Monchengladbach and 7 at Arsenal where I experienced ups and downs, which have helped me grow.
"I hope to lead Leverkusen to success, and I am convinced that with this squad it is possible."
