Bayer Leverkusen chief Simon Rolfes is delighted announcing Callum Hudson-Odoi is staying.
The option for Chelsea to recall the winger from his loan at Bayer has now expired.
And Rolfes admits there's some relief that Hudson-Odoi will be seeing out his loan this season.
"We assumed that Callum would stay, but now we also have the certainty that he will stay with us," he said.
"We are happy because he is a very important player for us."
