Barnsley are looking to bring in Doncaster Rovers midfielder James Coppinger.

The 31-year old is currently competing in League One with Rovers after the club were relegated last season but Tykes boss Keith Hill is hoping to hand him a pathway back to the Championship.

"We've made an enquiry about James and we'll see what happens," Hill told the Yorkshire Post.

"Hopefully, we can do something by the weekend."
