Barnsley matchwinner Brian Howard admits he left Anfield with Xabi Alonso's Liverpool shirt on Saturday.

Howard revealed: "All my family were here and loads of friends, who are Liverpool fans.

"I will be telling everyone for the rest of my career how I scored the winner at Anfield - the best day of my life.

"I got Xabi Alonso's shirt at the end, I just asked him for it but I don't think he was too impressed.

"He gave it to me but just walked off and didn't say a word. I didn't want to rub it in and celebrate in front of him, so I didn't jump around. I thought he'd suffered enough."
