Barcelona to make new move for Man City midfielder Bernardo Silva

Barcelona are ready to make a new move for Manchester City midfielder Bernardo Silva.

Sport says the Portuguese midfielder has been a target for the Catalan giants before and Silva even asked Pep Guardiola's side if he was able to leave in the summer.

He has been in fine form for City this season, scoring two goals and laying on five assists in 12 Premier League games.

The shock retirement of Gerard Pique has unexpectedly given Barcelona the opportunity and financial ability to make a move for Silva.

By announcing his retirement, Pique has saved the club about £44million, significantly helping the cash-strapped club to juggle their finances and increase their Financial Fair Play margin.

Bernardo is willing to move and the report states that Barcelona would be able to afford his asking price, but City would have to be convinced to sell such a key player mid-season.
