Barcelona sports director Deco has confirmed Vitor Roque is joining in January.

Roque completed his final game for Athletico Paranaense yesterday, helping them to a 3-0 win against Santos.

Deco said: “He is a player we already had signed. And even if he was to join in June, we had the option of him joining in January. With the Gavi thing, we had to make a decision. They are players in different positions, but also looking at it with the coach we decided that the best thing is the immediate incorporation of Vitor."

Deco says the youngster will learn from working with Robert Lewandowski.

He added, “He moves between the lines, play between spaces. He is young. Vitor is going to be one more to fight to play. But we are talking about Lewandowski. The good thing is that he has it all to learn."
