Barcelona pushed to deadline to sign Fiorentina midfielder Amrabat

Fiorentina refused to do business with Barcelona on deadline day over Sofyan Amrabat.

Sport says the deal that was pushed the most in the final hours was for Amrabat. Barça tried to improve their first proposal (€4m loan fee + €36m buy option), but Fiorentina said 'no' and Barça ruled out his incorporation.

Amrabat was offered to Barça in the January transfer window and became a priority in the last week of the window due to the impossibility of bringing in a top-level winger or full-back.

The Moroccan's agents believed that he could leave on loan and that encouraged Barça to try but Fiorentina did not compromise.

In the last few hours, Barça tried to raise their loan offer with a high transfer fee, but not even that worked.
