Barcelona president Joan Laporta believes the fans are feeling better about the club today.

Laporta says there is a sense of optimism around Barca right now.

"The Barcelona fans have hope thanks to the arrival of Xavi," the president said.

"He knows the players he has and we are communicating to see if we need to strengthen and if we can. But, we have to keep in mind the significantly reduced salary limit.

"We have to raise that limit and the only way to do that is for some players to leave.

"Xavi is currently considering all players. We are confident that he can get the most out of the squad."
