Barcelona president Laporta knows he 'owes' Messi, but...

Lionel Messi is ready to stay with PSG.

Marca says Messi and Barcelona didn't part ways in the best possible way as the Argentine forward was keen to renew his contract, but he was unpleasantly surprised when Joan Laporta changed his mind from one day to the next.

The current Paris Saint-Germain star burst into tears during his farewell speech, before joining the Ligue 1 club last summer on a free transfer.

The Barcelona president is aware that he owes Messi and he is willing to work on recovering his relationship with Argentina international.

Laporta's idea is to prepare a tribute for Messi at the Camp Nou in the future, but for the time being their relationship is non-existent despite reports of Messi's father, Jorge, getting into touch with the club to discuss his son's potential return.

Despite PSG's elimination at the hands of Real Madrid, the former Barcelona captain is not considering departing the Ligue 1 leaders.

His intention is to fulfil the two years of his contract with the French club and he has not considered returning to Barcelona. Everyone at the Blaugrana would be willing to bring him back, but at this time the operation seems unfeasible since its potential cost is extremely high.
