Barcelona goalkeeper Marc-Andre Ter Stegen was delighted with victory at Getafe.

Ter Stegen was a key player as Barcelona ended their long wait for an away win by beating Getafe 2-0 on Saturday.

The goalkeeper set up Luis Suarez's opening goal of the game with a fine pass from his own half.

"Normally goalkeepers want to stop plays," he joked of his assist. "I saw Suarez, but not so much. He got away from his marker well. It was the perfect moment. I was lacking an assist! But the important thing is that I'm happy to do something for the team and that we're taking three points home."

Barça had failed to win in four away games this season before taking the spoils in Madrid this weekend.

"It was important," Ter Stegen added. "It's the first step we wanted to take. As a team, we wanted to step forward. It's not easy to play here and I am happy for the team because we've got the points.

"The important thing for us as a team is that we're always aware of what's happening. Teams have been making lots of chances but we managed to limit them today. We want to stop conceding so many goals and today was a good day in that sense.

"At moments we've used our experience. We stuck together we defender better, in that aspect we've improved a lot."
