Barcelona coach Xavi admits they risk asking too much of new arrival Vitor Roque.

Roque is joining Barca from Athletico Paranaense next month.

Xavi said today: "We cannot put all the pressure on Vitor Roque. We all have to take a step forward. We have to improve in the areas. We have nine points less than Girona due to lack of effectiveness, we are lacking.

"We are already in contact with him and after the holidays he will be in contact with us.

"If you paint it as negative... maybe he won't come and if the plane doesn't leave it will stay in Brazil. I am positive. That he comes, he adapts, is hope for the team. It is a very good signing. I see many positive things with his signing. He will give us a goal, sacrifice.
