Barcelona chief Deco: There are not so many high-level coaches on the market

Barcelona chief Deco insists there's been no planning held to find Xavi's replacement.

Xavi will step down as Barca coach at the end of the season.

Deco told Cataluyna Radio: "We are not looking for it. The season is not over. There is a lot left to go. Also after winning a title we had to maintain a team. The team has a cycle ahead of it: young people, people who want to continue... There are many things still to do this season. It is not finished.

"There are things ahead, before looking for the coach. We are in the present. The planning does not change because of the coach. First, we want to be in the Champions League next year, to pass this course of the round of 16, winning LaLiga...

"In football, many things can happen in a month or two months. When I say that we are not talking about the coach, it means that we are not making any decision because it is early. There is a lot of time ahead.

"The season is still not clear, when it is clearer we will see...

On the choice of new coach, he also said: "First, we must know what we are capable of having as a project. Second, we must know what we can do. Third, we must know which players we have. The majority want to be here and this is not going to change. And then the name will depend on several things: there are not so many high-level coaches on the market.

"Most of them have contracts. There are not many available. But there will be movements. When the time comes, we will make the right decision."
