Barcelona technical secretary Eric Abidal says management is delighted with the captaincy of Lionel Messi.

Abida revealed Messi is enjoying a positive influence on the squad.

"He is an exemplary captain, not only in talent, but on a personal level," he said.

"He does not talk much, but he teaches everything on the pitch.

"He is a key player for us and for the dressing room.

"Leo does not need to speak, as when he is angry everyone knows it.

"The role and the history he has are very important for everyone."
