AXED! Tierney dropped after Forest farce

Referee Paul Tierney has been disciplined for falling below the required standards of his job.

Tierney has been dropped from refereeing the next round of Premier League fixtures, per The Sun.

The official was accused of accidentally helping Liverpool to snatch a late winner at Nottingham Forest in the Premier League on Saturday.

Liverpool defender Ibrahima Konate went down with a head injury late in that game.

However, instead of giving back the ball to Nottingham Forest, who had been in possession at the time, Tierney gave it to Liverpool.

They went up the field and ended up creating one final chance for Darwin Nunez to win the game 1-0 in the 99th minute.
