RB Salzburg striker Erling Haaland has been named Austria's Footballer of the Year for 2019.
The poll held by APA, saw the 19-year-old receive a total of 27 points from the twelve voting coaches of the Austrian Bundesliga. The Norwegian clearly prevailed ahead of Marcel Sabitzer (15 points) and six-time winner David Alaba (11 points).
"It's a big deal for me. The youngest ever and the first from abroad for ten years - that's something special. It is an honour for me," said the Norway international.
With 28 goals in 22 games this season, Haaland is enjoying the interest of Europe's biggest clubs, including Manchester United and Juventus.
