Atletico Madrid coach Diego Simeone has paid tribute to Renan Lodi as he leaves for Nottingham Forest.

Lodi is to join Forest on-loan including a permanent option for €30m.

Simeone said: “I'm not the only one to be restless, many realities have to live with the economic needs of the club.

"I thank Renan for his work and for the attitude he had with the team, he was waiting for his chance to be played more. He needs to play and find continuity in view of the World Cup, he went looking for what he believes he can find.

"There are those who stay and fight and those who look for minutes out."
