Arsenal have jumped into the race for Athletico Paranaense midfielder Bruno Guimaraes.
Guimaraes was all set to join Atletico Madrid this month, but the deal fell through as the Spanish giants turned their attention towards buying a new striker.
This has opened the door to rival clubs, with Paranaense president Mario Celso Petraglia informing O Jogo: "Yes it's true.
"Yesterday an official bid came from Benfica to recruit Bruno Guimaraes. Let's study Benfica's proposal. On Monday, we will meet with the club's board to evaluate this situation.
"Arsenal are interested, but will only bid at the end of the season."
