Athletic Bilbao midfielder Mikel Vesga admits he's enjoying his football this season.

Vesga has just penned a new deal with Athletic to 2027.

He said at this week's presser: "I've never enjoyed my football more than in this moment and you can see that on the pitch. It's taken me a lot to get to this point, my time at the club has not always been easy.

"I really want to keep growing because I think I can still improve a lot.

"We're all enjoying ourselves, but we have to be careful and work hard to maintain our form. Experience tells us the season is long and there will be ups and downs.

"Right now everything seems perfect, and I think it really is in terms of performance, but we must go step by step while always looking upwards."

He added: "We're much stronger at home than last season, even getting results in the dying minutes. That's because we go for it and believe in it until the end. If we keep getting points here, that's most of the work done.

"Now we have to prepare for a tough schedule in January, with a lot of games in LaLiga and the Copa."
