Athletic Bilbao fullback Yuri Berchiche says Ander Herrera would be welcome by the players.

The former Athletic midfielder is in talks with PSG about a contract payoff ahead of returning to his old club as a free agent.

Berchiche told AS: "He has world experience in Manchester and PSG, he's a guaranteed player and I'd be very happy if he came.

“The locker room talk about what the press brings out, it seemed that he was coming this week, now maybe not... I hope he comes, the signing of Ander would be good.

"He adds his experience beyond his football and he is a very good player and could give us a plus."
